The Rosebud Sioux Tribe and Sicangu Resource Development (SRD) are requesting the assistance and participation of all community members within the Rosebud Sioux Tribal Service Area during the upcoming 30-Day Public Comment Period for the Tribe’s revised Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS).

The public comment period officially opens May 15, 2026 and closes June 15, 2026.

This important planning effort is being conducted as part of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe’s U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) Community Planning Grant and will help guide future economic development priorities, housing strategies, infrastructure investment, workforce development, business growth opportunities, and long-term community prosperity throughout the Reservation.

A Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) is a federally recognized, community-driven planning document designed to reflect the voices, priorities, strengths, challenges, and vision of the people. Community input is critical to ensuring the final plan accurately represents the needs and aspirations of the Sicangu Lakota Oyate and the broader Reservation community.

This survey is open to all residents living within the Rosebud Sioux Tribal Service Area regardless of Tribal affiliation, race, or residency status. SRD encourages Tribal members, non-Tribal residents, elders, youth, business owners, professionals, service providers, and stakeholders from across the service area to complete the survey and share their perspectives.

Survey participants who complete and submit a survey during the public comment period will be entered into a drawing to win one of two $250 Gift Cards.

Hard Copy Surveys may be completed and returned to:

Sicangu Resource Development
1004 Omaha Street
Mission, SD 57555
(BIA Building – East Wing)

Community members may also call SRD staff at:
(605) 856-5644

SRD staff are available to meet community members and pick up completed surveys if transportation or mobility is a barrier.
The survey may also be completed online through the QR Code or survey link provided below. Online submission is preferred.

Your voice matters. Your feedback will directly help shape the future direction of economic and community development for the Rosebud Sioux Tribe and surrounding communities over the next five years.

Wopila Tanka for helping build a stronger future for our Oyate and all communities within the Rosebud Sioux Tribal Service Area.
